When we began our search for a private school, we were focused on two things: a positive, diverse community, and academics that would spark a real love of learning. Three years into our time at Far Brook, we feel confident we made the right choice."Diversity" can feel like a buzzword, but it''s real here. It''s visible, it''s felt, and it''s woven into everyday life in a meaningful way. We''ve watched our daughter grow into herself with confidence, curiosity, and joy. She''s received additional academic support whenever she needs it, and that''s not something we take for granted. She''s exposed to so much that when someone asks what she wants to be when she grows up, she actually has options. We love Far Brook for the community it''s provided us as parents as well. Our little boy will be joining the in the Fall. We love it here :)

Far Brook School has been everything we hoped for and more. Despite joining the school in a later elementary grade, our child has had an extremely smooth transition. The teachers and staff at Far Brook truly care and take the time to get to know each child. The school culture is warm and welcoming. There are many opportunities to get to know the staff and other parents. Academics at Far Brook are rigorous, engaging, and also hands-on. The projects they do are immersive. Kids aren''t sitting inside completing work sheets. It is truly a progressive school. Beyond academics and the arts, Far Brook instills positive values and gives children opportunities to try new things. It''s a safe environment that has allowed our son to feel comfortable stepping outside of his comfort zone. Most of all, our child is happy to go to school every day, and we are always excited to hear what he has been up to. Far Brook is truly a unique and special place for children. We have peace of mind knowing our child is at such a wonderful school.

As a parent of a 6th grader in his first year at Far Brook School, we''ve had a very positive experience so far. My son genuinely enjoys going to school every day, which says a lot.The teachers are very attentive and truly get to know each child as an individual, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. The small class sizes really make a difference, allowing for more personalized attention and meaningful participation. What stands out most is the balance between strong academics and creativity. The curriculum encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration, while also giving students opportunities to explore arts, hands-on projects, and outdoor learning. We also appreciate the warm, inclusive community-students are kind, supportive, and respectful toward one another. Overall, it has been a great start for our son, and we''re very happy with our decision.

We enrolled our son at Far Brook for kindergarten, and nine years later he is graduating from 8th grade. From our very first visit, Far Brook felt different. Sitting in on "morning meeting," a daily tradition where the entire school gathers together, I watched 200 little voices enthusiastically greet the Head of School, then sing songs together from their shared songbook, teenagers included. It brought tears to my eyes. When COVID hit, Far Brook handled the transition to distance learning seamlessly, keeping that warm community spirit alive even through a screen.More recently, they did a wonderful job shepherding us through the private high school application process, hosting information sessions and SSAT prep with no pressure whatsoever. Our son applied to three of the most competitive private high schools in New Jersey and was accepted to all three. The proof is in the pudding. If you are considering Far Brook, visit and sit in on a morning meeting. You''ll know.

As a mom, Far Brook School has felt like more than just a school-it''s truly a community. From the start, I was struck by how diverse, warm, and welcoming it is. I''ve built real friendships not only with other parents but even with members of the staff, which says so much about the environment. My son has had such a positive experience-he''s made real, meaningful friendships, and it genuinely feels like all the children are kind, inclusive, and happy to be together. What I love most is that the school truly helps children stay children for longer, with a beautiful balance of learning, creativity, and play. And the campus-set in nature-is just incredible and makes everyday feel a little special.

Enrolling our daughter in Far Brook has been one of the best educational decisions we''ve made. The small class sizes and deeply engaged teachers create a truly individualized learning experience, and the sense of community is both warm and welcoming. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to challenge our daughter while ensuring she has the support she needs to thrive.Learning at Far Brook extends far beyond the classroom. Through engaging trips, meaningful community service, and real-world applications of classwork, concepts truly come to life. Whether she''s planting in the garden, exploring nature through science, building in the woodshop, or expressing herself in art, the school fosters a well-rounded approach to both academics and creativity. The beautiful campus naturally encourages outdoor learning, adding another rich layer to her experience. She''s now singing in multiple languages, trying new sports, skiing, and even performed in her first play-opportunities that have helped her grow in confidence and curiosity. We are so grateful to be part of a school community that nurtures not just academic success, but the whole child.

We toured several schools, and it became pretty clear that Far Brook was different. The campus itself is really special, and after two years we've had a very good experience. What we appreciate most is how the school lets kids be kids while still taking learning seriously. There's a lot of hands-on work, time outside, and room for curiosity, which has made a big difference for our child's confidence and love of school. The teachers genuinely know their students. It doesn't feel like anyone is just moving through a system -- they recognize strengths, quirks, and when a child needs a little extra push or support. Communication with parents has been thoughtful without being overwhelming, and the parent community has been a real highlight for us. Parents are very engaged and the vast majority are down to earth. It's a warm, close-knit community, and while it's not a pressure-cooker environment, kids are still very well prepared for the next step, including competitive high schools!

We love Far Brook School! As parents of young children in the Lower School, we could not be any happier with or more appreciative of our experience at Far Brook. The play-based, experiential, progressive curriculum is engaging and joyful for our children, and also grounded in solid academic rigor. The faculty and staff are creative, flexible, supportive and open with communication; we feel like a part of a team working with them to truly understand our children for who they are and what they need. Additionally, we feel fortunate to be part of such a close-knit, diverse and inclusive community of families. Most importantly, our children are eager to go to school every morning, and excited to share their day every afternoon.

Absolutely love this school! Students learn by exploring the natural world around them, guided by top-notch teachers who know how to both challenge and nurture children. Students support each other in the lab, on the field and in artistic productions. Lots of individual attention from the faculty. The N/K-8 model is important — very close-knit environment really pays off as the older kids become leaders for the younger ones.. Far Brook achieves academic excellence without being a high-pressured environment. Now we see the lasting benefits of a Far Brook education: self-confidence, a willingness to try new things, and a lifelong desire to learn. Our kids were extremely prepared for high school and beyond!

We love Far Brook! Engaging academics, caring faculty and staff, inclusive community, social/emotional support for students, and thoughtful curriculum/program with milestones and leadership opportunities as the kids mature. Teachers see, understand and know our children as students and as individual people, helping them understand their strengths and weaknesses and how to advocate for themselves.
