I placed my child in SHLS after a dismal experience in our assigned elementary school. Now both kids attend Shepherd and I'm so happy with their progress. It's a small school, ideal for nurturing the spirit and the mind. The expectations are high, but the faculty and staff help students reach those standards. I've heard others comment on bullying, but I think this is a function of the age group and definitely not any worse than what we experienced in public school, which was a major reason we pulled out oldest. Most of what we experience at Shepherd is standard boyish competitive behavior which doesn't seem to occur in the older elementary/middle school ages. Sports are incorporated starting in K and it's about learning, not winning. Love the school and will keep our kids there for as long as we live in San Antonio.
