Winhold Montessori Schools

17555 S Dixie Hwy
Miami, FL 33157
Founded in the Palmetto Bay, Florida community in 1982, our Winhold Montessori school began with a student body of ten and a staff of one assistant and Mrs.
Eleanor Winhold. By 1985, the school had expanded to three classrooms at two locations, and in 1990, the three Children's Houses became centralized in one location at Old Cutler Road.
In 2002 WMS moved to its current location conveniently located at the entrance of the new Palmetto Bay Park.
We are dedicated to the principles of a true Montessori education which means that our school's environment is prepared and adapted in order to link the child to it through well thought out lessons and to facilitate the child's exploration and creativity.
The method of Montessori is based on the recognition that children are all different and must be treated individually; that children absorb knowledge best when the impulse to learn comes from their own mind; that children should eagerly desire to work at a project, thereby teaching themselves.

My daughter has been there since March 2019 and just graduated Kinder, I truly wish she could stay onto 1st grade. From the very onset, the whole staff, every single one of them has been amazing. The Director communicates greatly, they truly take care of the kids and the facility! my daughter comes home with such intelligence and articulates her daily activities to us in detail. This is and has been such an amazing experience, Kudos to all! we have friends and I sure will bring her back to visit her teachers often as they have also become a family. VERY grateful for what you do in this school, highly recommended to anyone wanting a safe environment and the best educators!
